Walasse Ting aka Xinghua Ding (1929 – 2010, Chinese/American) “Black Cat” (1981) is a Limited Edition Lithograph, signed and dated ‘Ting 81’ in pencil in the lower right, and designated ‘A/P’ in pencil in the lower left. The image measures 18.25 x 27.25 inches, sheet size is 21 x 29 inches, and with mat and frame, the dimensions are 28.5 x 39 inches. The frame shows very minor wear. The artwork is in excellent condition. Walasse Ting was a self-taught painter, sculptor, graphic artist, and poet. While living in Paris, he was acquainted with and influenced by COBRA artists Karel Appel, Asger Jorn, and Pierre Alechinsky. Among his favorite images to create were sensuous women, animals including cats, birds, and fish as well as a broad range of flora and fauna.
