FINE ART APPRAISALS

SVFA-Project Room appraisals follow the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) format and code of ethics required by all appraisal societies, and are accepted and highly regarded by insurance companies, courts of law, and governmental agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service. As twentieth century specialists, SVFA-Project Room has performed numerous appraisals for donation, estate and asset management, insurance and sale purposes. SVFA-Project Room is a member of the International Fine Art Appraisers Association.

DELIVERY & INSTALLATION SERVICES

Collectors rely on SVFA–Project Room to deliver their fragile and valuable art across the city, and the world. Using our own gallery technicians and trusted 3rd party couriers, SVFA-Project Room has moved thousands of works safely to their destination. Collections and transit insurance direction is also offered.

CONSIGNMENT

Our specialists are available to evaluate Modern & Contemporary works for sale or consignment. We are available to discuss the sale of an individual piece or entire collections. All inquiries are deemed confidential. Business is conducted nationally and internationally.

THE APPRAISAL PROCESS
EXAMINATION

We carefully examine all properties on site. Afterwards we will supply you with a complete analysis including:

  • Photography
  • Measurement
  • Description
  • Condition
  • Evaluation
RESEARCH

Value conclusions for appraisals are based on comparable sales analysis for each item.

THE REPORT

Clients are provided two copies (or more, as requested- specialty bindings can be arranged) of the completed appraisal, including:

  • Cover documents detailing the process, definitions, market, and total valuation
  • Appraiser’s Qualifications to perform the appraisal
  • Identification, description, photograph and value of each item
APPRAISAL FEES

Appraisal fees are based on an hourly rate and include factors such as on-site time, research time, documentation and report preparation time and travel. There is a minimum rate of $225 per hour.
